Giverny -  Time: 2 hours

Giverny is best known for Claude Monet’s house and gardens. Monet lived in Giverny from 1883 until his death in 1926 and many of his most famous paintings are from his gardens which he cultivated primarily for this purpose.

Monet was at the forefront of the ‘Impressionist’ movement. His house and gardens were restored in 1980 and make for an interesting day out. This is a also a good stop if driving to Normandy from Paris as it is en-route.
